Rudri-Leela and Tulsi-Leela are fraternal (non-identical) twins. Fraternal twins can be the same or opposite sex and their genes are as different as any other brother and sister. Often, same-sex fraternal twins look different. As do the Leela twins.
The Leela twins were born during COVID-19, which meant that there were lots of lockdowns and restrictions and for almost two years during my pregnancy and when the twins were born, I was homebound as were many people around the world. It was then that I decided to take up two of my much-loved hobbies - painting and writing, hobbies that I had stopped for a very long time due to always feeling like I had no time.
As people met the twins, they could not help but compare them to one another (which is totally understandable as twins can be very fascinating and we just naturally end up comparing them) however, I felt that with this constant comparison, it was crucially important that my twins, all twins and that everyone understood that whilst twins will always have an extra special bond with each other, with many similarities, their individuality and uniqueness is equally important and it is PERFECTLY OK to be different.
This is how my first book Different Twins It's Perfectly OK came to be.
